UCEM postgraduate students in Wales able to access student loans for first time

Postgraduate students in Wales are now able to access student loans when applying to study with UCEM.

This will be the first time UCEM’s postgraduate students in Wales will have been able to access this financial support, which is thanks to the Welsh Government.

Student Finance Wales brought in the change which means full-time or part-time postgraduate students living in the country can apply for a Postgraduate Loan of up to £10,280 towards the programme and living costs.

UCEM’s Deputy CEO and Vice Principal – Strategy and Business Management, Jane Fawkes, applied for UCEM postgraduate programmes to be eligible under the scheme and this was granted at the end of October.

Jane said: “I’m delighted that we are able to provide financial assistance to a wider cohort of students thanks to Student Finance Wales. This will help to remove financial barriers which may have stopped potential students applying to study with us in the past and I hope this will encourage Built Environment professionals in Wales to further their careers and achieve their ambitions in the sector with our support.”
