Why study with UCEM

Why international students choose us

Founded in London in 1919, UCEM offers real estate, property and construction students the highest quality supported online learning; enhancing their academic knowledge, employability, and career prospects. UCEM programmes are recognised and accredited by professional bodies including RICS, CIOB, CABE and HKICM. What’s more you can study from anywhere in the world without the need for a visa and access your learning from home or a global office location.

When you become a student at UCEM, you become part of a global learning community. We are an international institution with students in more than 100 countries and many members of our academic staff also have strong international links too. With easy access to our tutors who have extensive professional industry experience, we give our students, and the companies they work for, the skills to compete and succeed on a global scale.

Our support services are designed to ensure that you receive all the help you need during your time with us. Whether this is advice on your application, questions on funding, study options or your career.

We’ll also work closely with you to identify valuable opportunities to enhance your career and offer you the chance to become part of the Built Environment’s global network of practitioners, teachers and professional bodies.

Postgraduate programme support:

Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme

For a limited number of students who have demonstrated outstanding academic ability as well as financial need, UCEM will fund up to 50% of your postgraduate programme.

Programme fees

Unlike many UK universities, we don't think it's fair to charge you extra if you're an international student

That's why we're proud to offer all of our programmes at the same price, whether you're studying with us in the UK or anywhere else in the world

Our competitive BSc (Hons) degrees cost a total of £22,440 while our MSc programme fees are a total of cost of £9,800. Our specialist MBA has a total cost of £11,025

LANGUAGE AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

BUILT FOR INTERNATIONAL

Language requirements

All UCEM programmes are taught and assessed in English. You will therefore be required to demonstrate adequate proficiency in the language before being admitted to a programme.

Entry requirements

The entry requirements for our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are the same for both UK and international students. Please refer to the programme specific pages for more information. To demonstrate your eligibility please complete our online application form and upload copies of your qualification certificates and/or transcripts.

Ecctis

UCEM utilises a service called Ecctis to determine the equivalency of international qualifications. Ecctis is the national agency responsible for providing information, advice and opinion on vocational, academic and professional skills and qualifications from all over the world. As the national agency, managed on behalf of the UK Government, they provide the only official source of information on international education and training systems and wide-ranging international qualifications and skills attained from outside the UK.

To find out more about language or entry requirements, please contact our friendly admissions team.

HONG KONG OFFICE

BUILT FOR PARTNERSHIP

UCEM has been active in Hong Kong for 40 years and we have close links with Hong Kong academic institutions, employers and professional bodies, including the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) and the Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers (HKICM). We are proud that 4798 students from Hong Kong have studied with UCEM in the past.

Fees are charged per semester, and you will be required to pay the full semester fee at the point of registration.

Students who wish to make payment of their tuition fees by international bank transfer are often vulnerable to fluctuating exchange rates and bank charges from both the sending and receiving bank.

UCEM has officially partnered with Flywire to accept payments from over 240 countries and territories, in more than 140 currencies. Millions of students and their parents world-wide trust Flywire to facilitate their education payments.

  • Get 24/7 multilingual support with any questions you have about making your payment from Flywire’s expert team. You can give them a call, send an email, or use live chat online

Do I meet your entry requirements?

The entry requirements for each programme are listed on the programme page and under the entry requirements section on this page. Our programmes are taught in English so you will need to meet the English language requirements.  Once you have submitted an application we can assess your qualifications, for international applicants we use a service called Ecctis to determine the equivalency of international qualifications.

Is an online degree from UCEM the same as a degree from a face to face university?

Yes, UCEM were awarded Taught Degree Awarding Powers (TDAP) in 2012 which were then renewed in 2018. This allows us to validate and award our own degrees just like any other university. We have the same resources as a traditional university, we just deliver them in a different way to our students. Many employers recognise the dedication and time management that studying online whilst also working requires and will value these attributes.
