This role forms part of our IT service desk, who are the face of our Information Technology team, providing an approachable, supportive, and tenacious approach to technical issues, and providing guidance and advice to staff and students where necessary. The service desk consists of a committed group of people who enjoy helping others and developing their own skills.
What do you love most about working in your team?
The very nature of technology means that no day is the same, and when things become challenging or major incidents happen, the team really pull together and to find solutions. The support you get from your own colleagues is both rewarding and provides a knowledge sharing environment which boosts your skills each and every day.
What is the impact of your team’s work?
As an online institution, technology brings our staff and students together, and enables teams across UCEM to deliver a remarkable experience for all of our students, regardless of their location. The service desk supports the very heart of our wonderful institution and the impact is therefore visible in everything we do.
What’s your favourite thing about working for UCEM?
Everybody cares and it really does feel like a family. We are all committed to the student journey and to student success and this means that everybody supports one another in our collective goal. It is rare to find that atmosphere and the culture we have at UCEM is truly unique.
