Graduation Day for CEM diploma students presented by leading lights of RICS

Posted on: 22 July, 2009

A graduation ceremony for the presentation of the College’s diplomas, certificates and prizes took place in The Great Hall of the University of Reading on Saturday 11 July 2009 and was attended by students from a wide range of courses and their guests.

The President of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Max Crofts BSc FRICS, presented the diplomas and the immediate Past President of RICS, and Past Principal of the College, Peter Goodacre RD MSc FRICS FCIOB, presented the prizes.

The ceremony was followed by a buffet luncheon in a marquee on the lawns of the Great Hall and gave an opportunity for diplomates to celebrate their achievements with their families, share in each others successes and mingle with College staff.

Max Crofts – himself an alumnus of the College, father of another alumnus and now President of RICS – told the assembled gathering:

‘I have sat in this Great Hall as a graduate and as a proud parent and now I stand here as the representative of all chartered surveyors … just as the RICS qualification is truly a global passport and represents the gold standard, the College diplomas are equally recognised as gold standard qualifications and I congratulate each and every one of you on your achievement.’
