Overview

UCEM has an active Careers Team who work with industry employers and partners to build mutually beneficial connections with the industry, which benefit our students and employers.

How you can work with us

Careers fairs

As a distance learning provider, we do not hold a careers fair in the traditional sense, however if you might be interested in delivering an online session to promote your graduate programme and engage our students, please let me know and we can organise this with you.

Short term work experience and work shadowing (paid/unpaid)

We are interested in short term work experience opportunities (of four weeks of less) for our Building Surveying students. We have students across the UK and would like to hear from you if you may be able to accommodate a MSc or BSc Building Surveying student on a short paid or unpaid placement.

Industry speakers

We know that guest speakers can add significant value to our students experience and put together an engaging programme of Industry speakers each semester.  If you are interested in presenting to our students on topics that extend or enhance their technical education, or enrich their career and work readiness, please do get in touch to discuss it further.

Mentoring

UCEM runs targeted Mentoring Programmes for our students each year. For 2023-24, UCEM will continue its partnership with DiverseCity Surveyors, offering mentoring opportunities for students from ethnic minority backgrounds. From September 2024 mentoring schemes will be introduced for female, service veterans or disabled students.   If you would like are interested in any of these programmes or in becoming a mentor, please contact UCEM’s Outreach and Inclusion team at outreachandinclusion@ucem.ac.uk)

Advertise a vacancy

We use Target Connect to manage our vacancy platform. If you do not have an existing account, advertisers will need to register on the platform to use this service.

All new adverts will come through to our team for approval before they go live.
