Student Finance – UCEM BSc Degree Programmes

The Student Finance portal is now open for all 2018/19 programmes.
Students domiciled in England and Wales may apply to Student Finance for a tuition fee loan. Eligible students may apply for funding for up to £4,625 each academic year for standard route and £6,165 each academic year for accelerated route programmes. The total amount that you can borrow will be dependent on your programme intensity.

Students completing an online programme are not eligible for loans or grants for living and other costs, this applies even if you are studying at an accelerated intensity. Please ensure that you choose Distance Learning as your mode of study when completing your Student Finance application.

Please note that Student Finance Wales funding is only available for students who commenced their studies after September 2014.

Student Finance – UCEM MSc and MBA Programmes

Students domiciled in England and Wales may apply to Student Finance for a Postgraduate Loan to help towards programme and living costs. Eligible students may apply for funding for up to £5,304.50 each academic year.

Please note that funding is not available for Postgraduate programmes for students in Scotland or Northern Ireland.

Fee grant for students who started prior to 2012

For students who started a programme prior to September 2012 and those new or existing students who reside in Wales or Northern Ireland then you are still entitled to apply for a Fee Grant.

If you are an existing student on a University of Reading validated course who has applied for finance before, you should be sent information by Student Finance England. Details can be found at Student Finance England and Student Finance Wales.

Disabled students allowance

Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSAs) provide extra financial help for disabled students. You may get DSAs if you have a disability, long-term health condition, mental health condition or specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia.

The following UCEM and University of Reading validated programmes are registered with the Student Loans Company and the Student Awards Agency for Scotland allowing UCEM students to apply for DSAs where eligible.

Future Finance Student Loans

An alternative source of funding for students is available through Future Finance Student Loans.

Professional and Career Development Loans

We are a Professional and Career Development Loans registered Learning Provider, registration number 1410. A Professional and Career Development Loan is a commercial bank loan that you can use to help pay for work-related learning. For further information on financial assistance to support your learning, please visit the website or contact the National Careers Service on 0800 100 900.

Please note that the Professional and Career Development Loans is being closed this academic year. The last applications must be submitted by Friday, 25 January 2019 and courses must start by 24 March 2019.
