Chairman’s foreword

It gives me great pleasure in ushering in our centenary year – a year which will be marked with a great number of eye-catching events and activity.

The world is increasingly frenetic and we don’t often get a chance to pause so it is only right that we take a step back and look at the journey the institution has been on to become the modern, innovative online university college it is today.

As mentioned by Ashley, UCEM has educated more than 150,000 Built Environment professionals since its foundation. The Built Environment around us has been heavily shaped by those students and we intend to mark the achievements of our many students and alumni throughout the course of 2019.

The centenary year offers a great opportunity for engagement with our massive cohort of alumni and I hope all who have been associated with UCEM get involved in our celebrations.

We will not lose sight of our continuing education provision and I am confident in Ashley leading us into the next positive chapter in our history.

Enjoy the celebrations, make time to reminisce and keep in touch as we embark upon our second century and, hopefully, another 100 years just as inspiring as the first.
